竹の径（たけのみち）は、京都市西京区の洛西エリアと向日市にまたがる美しい竹林の道。総延長は約1.8ｋｍにも及び、沿道には竹の枝を束ねた「竹穂垣(たけほがき)」をはじめ、丸みを帯びた古墳の形を表現した「古墳垣」、かぐや姫の十二単衣の襟元をイメージした「かぐや垣」などオリジナルの竹垣を含め、８種類の意匠をこらしたデザインの竹垣が連なっています。美しい竹林の並木を歩くだけではなく、サイクリングもできますす。これだけの長い距離の竹林の道を自転車で走れる場所は、京都では唯一無二で他には見当たりません。竹の径に隣接し、日本で唯一約110種類の竹・笹が植えられている植物園「洛西竹林公園」があります。自転車は最寄駅の洛西口駅の高架下にある「阪急レンタサイクル」で借りることができます（6：30～22：00）。＜アクセス＞・京都駅～（JRで5分）～桂川駅・京都河原町駅～（阪急で11分）～洛西口駅①JR桂川駅・阪急洛西口駅から京都市バス（特西4）乗車、南福西町（竹林公園前）下車徒歩4分②JR桂川駅・阪急洛西口駅から京都市バス（69・70・西4・特西4・西9）、ヤサカバス（1・2・3・7・8）乗車、向日回生病院前バス停下車、徒歩12分・京都河原町駅～（阪急で7分）～桂駅阪急桂駅（西口）から京都市バス（西3・西8）乗車、南福西町（竹林公園前）下車徒歩4分＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝This beautiful bamboo forest street is located in Rakusai, Nishikyo, Kyoto.The total length is about 1.8km, and the alley is lined with bamboo groves. The path features eight different types of bamboo hedges, including unique creations like “Takehogaki” and “Kaguyagaki.”Not only can you take a walk, but you can also cycle along the path.This is actually one of the few paths where you can enjoy the scenery while riding a bike.There is a botanical park called “Rakusai Bamboo Park” next to the bamboo street.
