I have taken private lessons from MLC for 4 years now, both in person and when Covid19 started, online. They've always been helpful and flexible in working towards my goals and needs. I have worked on speaking practice, JLPT preparation, and even practical situations like going to the hospital. I am now reading a Japanese novel with my teacher. I am leaving Japan soon, but will continue to stay with them because I have enjoyed my experience and Sensei so much. Thanks MLC!

If you are ready to work hard you can get great results and very native-like speech.They do not support student visas and therefore most student are living in Japan long-term. The staff is super nice and their materials are really good. Otoh individual lessons are not really individual. I was taking some private lessons, having clearly stated my goals (spoken Japanese for casual conversation), yet I still got to buy a book for business Japanese and had to fill in work sheets basically all the time. Having worked as a teacher myself as well as having taken private language lessons in various countries, I gotta say that their 1on1 teaching leaves quite a bit of room for improvement.

Exceptional Learning Experince!MLC Meguro is an absolute recommendation for anyone to kick-start or level-up Japanese skills effectively! I started with N3 refresher private classes followed by N2 group lessons, eventually passing the JLPT N2 exam within ~8 month.The staff was incredibly responsive and friendly, the scheduling was very flexible and seamless throughout the courses. The experienced teachers excel at remote and online teaching, tailoring the classes to individual weaknesses and critical points of improvements. The MLC materials, complementing the Kanzen Master books, provide a solid foundation and nuanced understanding of grammar.Thanks to Yamanokuchi-Sensei, who is leading one of the N2 group courses, I have rediscovered the fun in learning Japanese, and I will pursue N1 and smoothen my business conversation as my next goals.Highly recommended for anyone seeking measurable progress in Japanese language skills!
