Very cozy bar and super friendly bartender. A hidden gem when you want to experience an authentic Kyoto experience
This was such a lovely bar to stumble upon. I was the only one in there (solo woman traveller) and the owner and I watched baseball together and chatted a bit. The whisky highball was strong but good, and he gave me some edamame and some crunchy snacks. The bar is cash only (there is a sign on the front) but I stupidly did not have enough money and the owner was kind enough to allow me to pay what I could! I feel so bad and am very grateful to him for that. I recommend this bar to anyone who is in the area!
Great bar for a quiet drink. Don’t be afraid to go in even though it is unassuming from the outside. We stopped by on our way back to our hotel one night and had such a good time we went back again the night after. The owner is very friendly and generous and makes good drinks.
Not sure why Google says this place is closed. It was open when we stumbled on it one day when we couldn't find a place to eat. It was so nice inside! The bartender gave us a few really tasty snacks while we drank. He talked to us about himself, showed us his son's music, and taught me how to use chopsticks. Definitely worth a visit!On a side note sorry to the guy who owned it. When I left I maybe had a few more drinks than I should and I took his chopsticks thinking they were disposable. How embarrassing! I'm still using them at home in America, my husband calls them my shame sticks.
