港営業所の碑当地、沼津港内港は昭和十二年五月に完成しました。弊社の前身沼津倉庫株式会社が昭和二十五年七月この地で回漕業を営んでいた沼津港運送（株）と沼津通運（株）を吸収合併して現社名に改称しました。その沼津港運送（株）は昭和二十年七月十七日午前一時頃当時営業していた沼津市下河原にて沼津大空襲にあい焼失、当地に移転しました。弊社は合併と同時にこの地で沼津港営業所を開設し戦後混乱の時代に伊豆半島の物資流通の拠点である沼津港から半島各地に主食・肥料・日用雑貨品等の生活必需品を届けていました。一方伊豆半島の天草・桜茶塩漬・薪炭等は当沼津港にて船から貨車に積み替えられ（沼津港線 通称蛇松線経由にて沼津貨車駅より）全国各地へ鉄道輪送されていました。高度経済成長に伴い沼津港内港の取り扱い貨物は県東部地区工場へ納入する繊維原料・電気銅・パルプ・澱粉等の工業用原料が主力となり三百トン級の小型貨物船が連日入港して活況を呈していました。昭和四十年代になると一般貨物の取扱量の増加により船舶が大型化し沼津港内港は手狭となり沼津港外港が計画され昭和四十五年十月に完成 大型船の入渉が可能となり一般貨物の取り扱いは外港が主力となりまた。今般 弊社は静岡県及び沼津市の「沼津港みなとまちづくり推進計画」に賛同の上、愛され続ける沼津港の繁栄を祈念しこの地を提供させて頂くものであります。茲に七十五年の風雪に耐え、弊社百十七年の歴史と共に歩んでまいりました当地に、先人の労苦とその歴史の証として記念の碑を残すものであります。令和二年三月吉日 沼津通運倉庫（株）Plaque of Numazu Port OfficeThe inner harbor of Numazu Port was completed in May of the twelfth year of the Showa era (1937). Our predecessor, Numazu Warehouse Co., Ltd., merged with Numazu Port Transport Co., Ltd. and Numazu Transport Co., Ltd., which had been engaged in the shipping business at this location since July of the twenty-fifth year of Showa (1950), and renamed to our current company name. Numazu Port Transport Co., Ltd. was destroyed in the Numazu air raid around 1:00 AM on July 17 of the twentieth year of Showa (1945) while operating in Shimokawahara, Numazu City, and subsequently relocated to this site. Along with the merger, our company established the Numazu Port Office at this location and, during the post-war period of confusion, delivered essential items such as staple foods, fertilizers, and daily necessities from Numazu Port, a hub of goods distribution on the Izu Peninsula, to various places across the peninsula. Meanwhile, products from the Izu Peninsula such as Amakusa seaweed, Sakura tea salt pickles, and charcoal were loaded from ships to freight cars at Numazu Port (via the Numazu Port Line, commonly known as the Janematsu Line, from Numazu Freight Station) and transported by rail to various parts of the country. With the high economic growth, the main cargo handled at Numazu Port’s inner harbor shifted to industrial raw materials such as textile raw materials, electrolytic copper, pulp, and starch, which were delivered to factories in the eastern part of the prefecture, and small cargo ships of three hundred tons class entered the port daily, showing vigorous activity. By the 1970s, the increase in general cargo handling volume led to the use of larger ships, making the inner harbor of Numazu Port too small, and the planning of the Numazu Port outer harbor was completed in October of the forty-fifth year of Showa (1970), allowing the entry of large ships and shifting the handling of general cargo mainly to the outer harbor. Recently, our company, in agreement with the “Numazu Port Minato Town Development Promotion Plan” of Shizuoka Prefecture and Numazu City, offers this land in the hope of continuing the prosperity of Numazu Port, which is beloved. Hereby, as a testament to the efforts of our predecessors and the history of this place, we leave this commemorative plaque, enduring seventy-five years of hardships alongside our company’s one hundred and seventeen-year history.Auspicious day of March, Reiwa 2 (2020) Numazu Transport Warehouse Co., Ltd.
